Who are we?

  • Hi, I am Anita, a Rome-based data journalist with a background in ethics and political philosophy. I believe philosophy should be practical and help us improve our conditions to lead better lives - and possibly, change the world a little bit. I am into everything political, but I also have a passion for films, especially pulp films with a message.

  • I am a PhD student on Philosophy at King’s College London. My research is on migration ethics, but I am broadly interested in political philosophy and feminist philosophy. I am also passionate about the arts and their impact on our lives.

  • My name's Nick. I live in Belgium though I'm from the USA. As an undergrad I studied psychology and philosophy at Loyola University Maryland. Later, I got my research masters in philosophy at KU Leuven. In my studies and now my work, I focus on the role of technology in society and conflicts. Informally though, I mostly want to understand how philosophy is concretely 'done' in writing, conversation, and other media.

  • Information

  • I studied philosophy at KU Leuven and at the Center for Research in Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP), where I focused on political theory and the intersection between philosophy and the social sciences. I’m heavily influenced by German and French Historicism and take a synthetic and interdisciplinary approach to complex phenomena which interest me such as international relations, the interaction between politics and psychology, and socio-economic development.

  • Hi, I'm Anke, a Phd student in political philosophy at KU Leuven, Belgium. As might seem obvious, my relation to philosophy - my passion for it - developed during my studies. Even before that, I was fascinated by the social, by interaction between individuals in everyday life, and by ethical questions. These are the interests I developed further during my studies, and they broadened to about everything related to society, its makeup and functioning, including politics, economics, culture, etc. Most articles I will write, however, will return to my original interest: ethical questions and questions of individuals' social behaviour in everyday life. Obviously, then, I believe philosophy is relevant for everyone and applicable everywhere.
